How did you decide you wanted to work in finance & accounting?

I have always loved numbers. In college, I took an aptitude test, and it said I should be an accountant. At the time, I thought accounting was just taxes. So, I said NO WAY! And I took the scenic route to end up in accounting anyway.

What are the highlights of your career so far?

I have a Masters of Science in Accounting. I've been growing and developing teams for over 10 years. I have been part of leadership teams for over ten years and have won awards for efficiency and innovation, including Inc 5000 and Fortune Inner City.

Are there any specific industries you enjoy serving?

I love serving start-ups! It's really fun to dive in and find ways to help set up and develop processes that will scale with them.

Small businesses and start-ups are so open to learning and developing. They are actively seeking ways to alleviate any growing pains. It's an amazing thing to partner with companies at the ground floor and help to set them up for long term success.

What are your super powers?

I love automation. I love designing workflows and having triggers that create a kind of domino effect.

Where did you grow up? How did you end up living where you live now?

I was born in Bronx, NY and I lived there until I was 8 years old. We moved to Oklahoma where I finished growing up. I went to college at OU which is where I met my best friend who 7 years later became my husband. He got a job at General Electric and I followed him here to Houston, TX. We have established and grown our family here.

What did you want to be when you were a little kid?

I loved numbers, so I thought I wanted to be an engineer. I didn't become one so I married one instead. It's the next best thing.

What do you like to do for fun outside of work?

I love to try new things. I like to plan new activities, go new places and try new foods with my little family.

Anything on your bucket list?

I want to travel to random places in the world. Little tucked away places.

Do you have any quotes or mottos you live by?

Life is like a camera, Focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives and when things aren't what you wanted, always take another shot.

I am the mother of two little superheroes and the wife of the most unbothered man in America.
